Sheffield Cycle Stand

Easily one of the simplest yet most effective modes of bicycle security, the Sheffield Cycle Stand is a commonplace sight in public areas. Highly recommended by national cycling associations and our team here at Barriers Direct, the simple design of this Sheffield bike rack is not just cost-effective, but also space-saving. You can install them in various configurations that will make for maximum utilisation of limited space. 

Their use is easy enough to understand, as all a cyclist has to do is chain some part of their bike to the Sheffield cycle stand. This is done mostly using the frame or wheels. The Sheffield bike stand weighs in at a sturdy 10 kilograms meaning that the bike will be well supported and secured for as long as is needed. The galvanised finish should also prevent any scratching of the bike’s paint. 

The Sheffield cycle hoops can be installed in concrete or bolted down. Either option should prove long-lasting, as the bolted option requires the use of 6x12mm bolts per stand. In cases of Sheffield hoops being installed in concrete, a minimum 300mm cube will be required for each leg. This solid installation helps to ensure that these Sheffield stands cannot be easily dislodged or damaged and that theft is well prevented.

For Sheffield cycle racks designs, the stands should be spaced at least 800mm apart and at least 450mm away from any wall or other structure. Creating suitably attractive or matching Sheffield cycle stands is easy enough as they can be supplied with a uniform galvanised finish, or customised in a range of RAL colours. Do allow some lead time for colour coating options. 

To ensure each Sheffield stand can comfortably accommodate at least two bikes of varied sizes, it should stand at least 750mm above ground. The 48mm diameter tube should allow for easy securing of bicycles using most standard D-locks and chains.

Recommended by National Cycling Association, this cost effective best-selling ‘Hi Visibility’ Bike Stand is a variation on the Sheffield Stand designed to be easily seen at night.

This Cycle Stand benefits from having reflective strips on the crossbar to offer greater visibility and will accommodate up to two bikes (one each side). The user can lock the wheel and frame to the stand using their own D-lock or chain etc. whilst allowing the user to secure the bike frame with their own lock.
